About selecting the built-in HDMI output of your Mac

I used to be possible to select the built-in HDMI output of your Mac as a video output when using OnTheAir Video Express 1, 

This feature is no longer available in OnTheAir Video Express 3, (nor is it available with OnTheAir Video 3 or OnTheAir Node 3.) Softron developed the Smart Playout Engine which ensures reliability and AV sync of the output.  Had Softron chosen to use the built-in output of your Mac, it would use a completely different framework with less reliability for the AV Sync..

AJA and Blackmagic-Design offer video cards that have a HDMI output and that are very affordable:

• If your Mac has a Thunderbolt port, you can use either the AJA T-Tap or the UltraStudio Mini Monitor. 
• If your Mac has PCI slots, you can use the Decklink Mini Monitor.
