Thanks to OnTheAir Video and OnTheAir Video Express keyboard shortcuts you can use external controllers that can emulate keyboard shortcuts such as Contour Design's Multimedia Controllers, or Logitech Creative Console.
Below, you’ll find instructions on how to set things up, along with some pre-configured settings and profiles. Please note that we are not affiliated with Contour Design or Logitech. Warning about scrubbing in clips in the playlist with the jog wheel
OnTheAir Video and OnTheAir Video Express are not specifically designed for scrubbing through clips in the playlist. Depending on factors like the codec used, you may encounter limitations in scrubbing functionality or speed. We recommend testing your setup to ensure it performs as expected.
Setting up the Contour Design ShuttlePro V2
Install the Contour Design ShuttlePro V2 drivers
Download the drivers for your ShuttlePro from the Contour Design website.
Unzip and drag and drop the "Contour Shuttle" application to the "Applications" folder, start it. Then make sure to allow the driver extension to be loaded.
Modifying the configuration
To configure the ShuttlePRO v2 for OnTheAir Video or OnTheAir Video Express:
- Open the "Contour Shuttle" Application,
- Click on the + icon to select the application you want to control (either OnTheAir Video or OnTheAir Video Express)
- Select "OnTheAir Video" or "OnTheAir Video Express" in list of applications on the left of the window
- In the list of buttons, select the one you want to setup. At the bottom of the window, choose the action you want to do. Select "Type Keystroke":
- Then type the keystroke you want to emulate when that button on the SuttlePRO is pressed. Check the available keyboard shortcuts here.
Pre-made Setting for OnTheAir Video Playback Control
To make your life easy, we have a pre-configured setting for OnTheAir Video playback control. This will allow you to control the playback output.
- Download the setting for OnTheAir Video
- Unzip it.
- Open the "Contour Shuttle" Application that you will find in your Applications folder.
- Click on the "Applications Settings" popup menu and select "Import Settings"
- Select the file OnTheAir Video.shuttleSettings
You can now use it in OnTheAir Video. Note that after the import, you can modify all the buttons to do your own setup.
Pre-made Setting for OnTheAir Video Master Control
We also have a configured settings that will be helpful for those marking in and out points in the clip inspector and navigating the Media Browser.
- Download the setting for OnTheAir Video Master Control
- Unzip it.
- Open the "Contour Shuttle" Application that you will find in your Applications folder.
- Click on the "Applications Settings" popup menu and select "Import Settings"
- Select the file OnTheAir Video_MasterControl.shuttleSettings
Setting up the Logitech Creative Console / MX Creative Dialpad
Install the Logi Options+ application
Make sure to follow the quick start guide provided by Logitech. Connect and pair the and download the Logi Options+ application to customize the buttons.
Configuration
Start the Logi Options+ application, select the Dialpad, click on Buttons. Then in the window that shows up, drag and drop the "Keyboard Shortcut" action to the button you want to assign it to.
Then choose the keystroke that you want to be emulated when this button is pressed. Check the available keyboard shortcuts here.
Pre-made Setting for OnTheAir Video
To make your life easy, we have a profile for OnTheAir Video.
- Download the setting for OnTheAir Video
- Unzip it.
- Open the "Logi Options+" Application
- Select the Dialpad
- At the top right, click on the + icon to "Add a Profile"
- Select "Import Profile"
- Select the file OnTheAir Video Logi DialPad Profile.lp5
You can now use it in OnTheAir Video. Note that after the import, you can modify all the buttons to do your own setup.
