About pre-releases (read me!)

After more than eight years of MovieRecorder 4, and a long run of continuous feature additions at no cost, we’ve reached a point where a major new release (with major new features) makes sense as a paid upgrade. Contact us if you need more info on the upgrade procedure and planning.
Early beta with major changes in the recording engine.
This version of MovieRecorder and MovieRecorder Express is an early beta and includes significant changes to the recording engine. It may be less stable than other pre-releases, so please use it with extra caution. Issues may occur.

What's new in MovieRecorder & MovieRecorder Express?
- NEW: Updated SDK versions of AJA (v18.1), Blackmagic-Design (v16), Deltacast (v6.34) and NDI (6.3.2). Make sure to check the tech specs page of your Softron software for compatibility with different drivers, as well as the manufacturer's website for compatibility of those drivers with your macOS version.
- NEW: Added support for HLS Streaming Destinations. Requires Streaming Center 2.
- NEW: Added support for SRT Streaming Destinations. Requires Streaming Center 2.
- NEW: NDI Souces: Added the ability to add sources by IP address
- NEW: NDI Souces: Added the ability to filter by group
- NEW: NDI Souces: Added the ability to hide local NDI sources
- NEW: Deltacast Cards: Added support for 48fps with cards that support it.
- NEW: HEVC: Now allowing you to select the profile to use (it was previously automatic)
- NEW: HEVC: Now allowing to downscale in 10bit.
- IMPROVED: QuickTime Classic: Generation of the header at the start of the recording has been drastically improved. No CPU spikes can be seen anymore.
What's new in MovieRecorder only?

- NEW: Router panel that integrates the control of video routers directly into ingest workflows, allowing users to schedule router changes and adjust routing without leaving the interface
- NEW: Powerful new web UI that enables users to monitor inputs (now with audio), schedule events and modify recording destinations remotely from any browser
- NEW: Expanded integration with REST API, GPI, TSL 5 and serial protocols, enabling tighter connectivity with automation systems and external equipment.
- NEW: Sidecar Metadata: Added the ability to add the file duration in the metadata (at the end of the recording)
What's new in Streaming Center 2?
- Streaming Center 2 requires macOS 14 or later, and MovieRecorder 5 or MovieRecorder Express 5.
- NEW: Revamped WebUI
- NEW: Added support for HLS Streaming Presets
- NEW: Added support for SRT Streaming Presets
- NEW: Added support for video router control
Warnings
- Streaming Presets created by Streaming Center 1 are not compatible with Streaming Center 2. You will need to recreate them.
- MovieRecorder 5.0.0 or later is required for Streaming Presets created by Streaming Center 2.
Known limitations
As said above, this is an early beta, so use with care, as very few things were tested. This version is mostly intended for users who want to test the HLS feature and Macnica MEP100 card. We will continue adding features and options, but don't hesitate to come back with some feedback.
Known Issues
- Macnica card support is work in progress, so you may still experience issues.
