Files installed when you run the installer (without starting any Node)
When you click on install with no previous install on your disk, it will install these files and folders:
/Library/PreferencePanes/OnTheAir Node.prefPane
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/OnTheAir Node 1.app
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/OnTheAir Node 2.app
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/OnTheAir Node Helper.app
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Plugins/
Please not that this installer will not install OnTheAir Live. To install it, you just need to drag and drop it to the Applications folder.
Below is an explanation of what are these files:
/Library/PreferencePanes/OnTheAir Node.prefPane
Is the preference pane that you can see in System Preferences. OnTheAir Node applications and OnTheAir Node prefPane must be in compatible versions.
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/OnTheAir Node 1.app
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 2/OnTheAir Node 2.app
These are the actual Node hidden applications.
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/OnTheAir Node Helper.app
This is the application that is used to start the nodes and restart tthem automatically if they crash.
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Plugins
In this folder you will find all the the plugins that can be used. Plugins can be for GPI Commander or Video router control for example.
Files created when you first start a Node
As soon as you first start one of the OnTheAir Node, it will create some files and folders. If for example you start Node 1, it will create a few files in the following folder: /Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1. All the following files can be deleted (except the files for activations) when the node is stopped. You will then loose the data related to it but it will not prevent Node from running and they will be recreated.
Files and folders created when you first start a Node are:
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node 1 Serial Numbers
Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node 1 System ID
These are the files used for Activations. !!!! NEVER to be deleted !!!!
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/Attributes Database/
This is where all that concerns attributes and plugins is stored = logos, etc
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/Media Databases/
Is the folder where all the media database for this Node are stored. There will be one folder per media database. This folder being named after the Media folder unique id. If you delete this folder, and restart the Node, it will have to rescan all the Media folders for this Node and validate all the clips. This can take a while if you scan an entire Xsan for example, so delete this file only if needed.
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/Media Databases/Node Info.plist
Is the equivalent of the preference file of the Node where all the output settings, media folders, etc is stored. This data is used when the node starts. IF you delete this file you will loose all your preferences and will have to redo them.
/Library/Application Support/Softron/OnTheAir Node/Node 1/Media Databases/Startup Info.plist
This file is where is stored informations that is used by before the node starts. must be deleted if you delete the Node Info.plist file. If not present OnTheAir Node Helper will not be able to start this Node.
