When you try to open the "License" window, we try to communicate with our activation server, so we know if we have to enable or disable the buttons "(De)Activate via internet...". But in some configurations this check can take some time, and you could then have the spinning wait cursor (rainbow wheel). The configurations when this happens is when you are connected to a network, but there is an issue in the DNS (not present or not configured properly), then Mac OS will keep on trying to communicate and search for a valid DNS server. After a timeout of approximately 30 seconds, it will stop looking for it and assume there is no internet connection.
