When in DEMO mode, our applications are fully functional, but they will have some limitations, such as showing a DEMO frame every few seconds on the output or in the recorded file.
Some of our applications clearly show the "DEMO" indication in the user interface, but if you don't see it, you can also do one of the following.
Checking for licenses & options from the "About" menu
The best place to see if your application is in DEMO mode (and to check which option are active), is when you select the menu "About OnTheAir Video", or "About {Name of the Application}".
This window will open:
Are you in demo mode?
check what is written under "License info". If you see:
- "Demo Version", you are running in DEMO mode
- A number, your application is licenses and this is the serial number used.
Which options do you have?
To know which options you have, for applications that have options, you will see a "More info..." button. Click on it to open this window:
- The green LEDs mean that an option is active,
- The red LEDs ones that it is not active.
- When the LED in front of "Base Application" is red, this means that you are running in DEMO mode.
Checking for licenses & options from the "Licenses" window
If you go to the menu "License", the license window will pop up.
Are you in demo mode?
When the application is running in DEMO, the window will look like this:
Note that the important part to check is what it says at the top of the window, saying that the "Application running as DEMO". Indeed, you could have licenses activated below, but still being in demo mode because for example:
- you are using a temporary serial that has expired (check the options to know the expiry date)
- you have activated an older license. For example you had a license for MovieRecorder 3 and you started MovieRecorder 4. Your license would be active, but you would need to add an upgrade license for MovieRecorder 4.
When your application is licensed, the window will show a "Application activated" at the top:
Which options do you have?
As you can notice in the screenshot above, you can't see all options. To view them, simply hover your mouse on top of the description:
How many channels do you have?
If you are using an application that supports multiple channels in one app (such as MovieRecorder or M|Replay), you can see the number of channels that you can use at the top right of the window:
What is the expiry date?
If you are using a temporary serial number, the expiry date will show up here:
