ABOUT Cross compatibility between the new and legacy activation system

As we started rolling out applications in 2025 with a new activation system, we wanted to make sure that this was seamless to our users. The good news is that both systems are completely cross compatible:

• You do not need new serial numbers. All your past serial numbers can be used in the new activation system.
• Newly created licenses are compatible with the legacy activation system.
• The migration between the legacy activation to new activation system is made easy for you. Start the application with the new activation system, and you will be offered to do the migration. More info on migration here...
• In the Softron License Manager platform, you can add a license that was activated with the legacy system. You will see the MAC address of the last computer it was activated on. You will not have some features such as a "Force release".
• Even if you have started to use the new activation system, you can still return to prior application versions that use the legacy activation system. Deactivate the license in the new activation system, then activate the license in the prior application versions using the legacy activation.
