HOW TO: Delete your account

WARNING! If you've decided to delete your Softron License Manager account, please note that once deleted, your account data cannot be recovered. Any licenses removed during the process will become available to anyone who knows the serial number. Please make sure that deletion is absolutely necessary.

How to delete your account?

1. Open Softron License Manager on your browser.

2. Log in with your email and password.

3. Click on your profile icon and name located in the top right corner and select "Edit Profile".

4. Click on "Delete Account" to start the deletion process.

What are the conditions?

You will only able to delete your account if:

• All the serial numbers for which you are the owner must have the status "Available". If you are the owner of a serial number, it must be deactivated (even if it is not activated by another user). Indeed, as deleting your account requires removing the license from the Softron License Manager,  you must release any current activation before proceeding with the deletion of your account.
• Licenses for which you are NOT the owner can be "In use", but not by you. If you have activated a serial number for which you are NOT the owner, you must release the activation before you can delete your account. Other users can have activated it...

If you are not in these cases, a special warning window will display all implicated serial numbers, along with the relevant information for each.

As you can see on the screenshot above, some of the serials are still in use, and thus the "Delete Account" button is greyed out. To be able to delete your account, go to the computer on which they are activated, and do a clean "Release". If (and only if) you don't have access to that computer, you could do a "Force Release".

What happens when you delete your account? 

Once you've ensured that all required activations are released, you will be able to delete your account. A warning window will appear—please read all the information carefully.

Deleting your account means that:

• All licenses you own will become available to others who know the serial number(s) and could claim ownership. Make sure that these serials are quickly added to another account to be sure no one else can use them.
• If your licenses have additional authorized users, they will lose the ability to activate and use those serial numbers.
