When should you do a "Re-Activate"?
You may need to "Re-Activate" a serial if it was previously activated on a computer, but you reformatted it, or you had it repaired and the motherboard was changed.
A quick reminder that before reformatting your hard drive, or having your Mac repaired, you should "Release" your serial numbers in your Softron Applications. Please carefully read our support desk article that explains how to properly release a license.
If you forgot to do it (or did not have a chance to do it because the computer would not start up), don't worry, you'll still be able to reactivate it.
From where can you do a "Re-Activate"?
You can only do a reactivate from the "Application Licenses > Manage Serials" window. You can not do it from a web browser.
Reactivating a serial
In the "Manage Serials" window, you will only see the "Re-Activate" button if the serial was activated on this computer. If the serial was activated on the another computer, you would see a "Force Release" button.
When you click on the "Re-Activate" button, this window shows up:
To continue, click on the "Reactivate" button. You will be asked for the account password to confirm.
Once the "Reactivation" has been done, the serial will be activated in your application, and you can close the window and use your software.
Note that there is a warning icon on the status badge. It will be shown there for as long as you can't do another "Reactivate", or "Force Release". You can hover it with your mouse for a description, showing also until which date and time you won't be able to do another Force Release or Reactivation (this info can also be seen on a web browser).
Once there is no more warning, it means you would be able to do a "Reactivate", or "Force Release" again, but let us insist that it's not the clean way to "Release" serial numbers. Check the article on how to properly release a serial number.
