When should you remove a serial?
You should only remove a serial from your account if you want to transfer the ownership of the serial. You will then remove it from your account, and then someone else can add it to his account.
WARNING! As soon as your license is removed from your account, it means that anyone that knows it can become the owner of it, and you won't be able to add it to your account anymore. So make real sure it is needed.
What are the conditions?
You can only remove a serial number from your account:
- when there are no current activations for that serial number
- from a web browser, in the "Softron License Manager" platform, you can not do that directly in your application.
How to remove a serial from your account?
1. To remove a license, first log in to your account in Softron License Manager.
2. You can remove the license simply by clicking on the "trash" icon and go to point 5. If it is disabled, you can also click on the 3 dots at the right of the line of the license you wish to remove:
3. This will show a detailed view of your license:
4. At the bottom right, you should see a button "Remove Serial". If not, and:
- if you see "Force Release", this means that your license is in use. Make sure to release it from the computer first to be able to remove the serial from your account.
- if "Remove Serial" is greyed out, this means that you are not the owner of the license. Contact the owner to remove you from that serial.
5. After you have clicked on "Remove Serial", you should see this window:
6. If you have other users assigned to this license, you would see a slightly different window, showing which other users will be impacted by the change:
7. When you click on remove, we'll ask for your user password to confirm the operation.
That's it, you can now add the serial on another account.
