MovieRecorder 5: VDCP control

Benefit

Switchers by certain manufacturers and control services can leverage VDCP to command MovieRecorder 5.

Enabling VDCP

Under Settings>General… there is a checkbox for VDCP and the IP port number. Typically the port number is 8000, and most services and switchers do not allow change. However, MovieRecorder can use a different port. After enabling, restart MovieRecorder to apply changes. 

 

Assigning Channel Ports

Ports in VDCP refer to the channel number, not the IP address port. After the restart of the application, each source has its own port assignment in their settings. In the image below, you can see VDCP settings at the bottom of the popout window. It's good to know that most switchers will only 1-8 ports. Check with your product manufacturer for their support.
