For those hoping to test M|Replay, the demo is fully functional albeit a blue watermark on the captured file and output. If you have a video device, M|Replay will connect to them as long as the proper drivers are installed.
Testing without an Input
If you do not have a video card, it is still possible to test the operating of the application. You will just need to have a few items:
- M|Replay installed
- OnTheAir Video multi instance (Download here)
- Video assets on the computer
With the multi instance of OnTheAir Video installed, launch 1 to 8 instances as needed. Go to settings for each instance and set the output to Virtual output and your desired frame rate and resolution. You can then add a video asset to each instance's playlist and begin playing them, utilizing the loop feature if needed. For your test, it does not matter if it is the same video for each player but it might make testing easier for users to understand if they are not identical.
With those players ready, launch M|Replay. Create a new session that matches your desired frame rate and resolution. In the left hand side under inputs, the OnTheAir Video instances will show up. If you do not see an OnTheAir Video instance, make sure it is playing video. The video playback will not be detected by M|Replay otherwise. As seen below, all the OnTheAir Video instances are active and immediately being recorded by M|Replay.
Testing without an Output
In the output section of M|Replay, you can click plus to create an output. You may then right-click on that output and select "enable virtual output". This will create a Direct Link output from M|Replay, the same technology used to receive the OnTheAir Video inputs.
Then using an application like MovieRecorder, you may capture the M|Replay output as if it were any other video device input. MovieRecorder also supports demo mode with a blue watermark on the captured file every ten seconds.
